Sir Gavin Williamson met with Penkridge junior football club to discuss possibilities for a new home ground.
Sir Gavin joined the club’s leadership along with a West Midlands Interchange (WMI) representative Michael Kirkland to highlight the importance of adequate facilities for young players. The football club has twenty teams, however their current facility is not adequate for the potential capacity they might require.
The team has received assistance from WMI in their search for an appropriate home field with the focus on improving services for youngsters.
Sir Gavin said: “I’m pleased to see that the West Midlands Interchange are cooperating with our local sports teams to provide our community clubs with the space needed for them to grow. Penkridge junior football club is a fantastic sports club and I hope to see progress on the establishment of a new home ground.”
