Sir Gavin Williamson met with Edward Vitalis, the new CEO of Invictus Education Trust, which connects a group of like-minded schools across Staffordshire.
Sir Gavin joined Mr Vitalis at Kinver High School, where he was given a tour of the school and met with students. He discussed the Trust’s vision to encourage collaboration across the eight different schools in the organisation, where students benefit from joint learning experiences and access to multiple facilities. The Invictus Education Trust was set up in 2015 and has since expanded, establishing the Invictus Sixth Form. Despite being relatively new and innovative, the Sixth Form is already recognised for its academic success. Students take their classes across multiple campuses and are transported to each campus free of charge.
Sir Gavin said: “It was wonderful to visit the Invictus Trust and meet with Edward and the students, whose vision for the future of education is innovative and encouraging. It was refreshing to see how the schools in the Trust work together to get the most out of their students, providing a range of opportunities and nurturing a variety of talents. Students were keen to praise the ethos of the organisation and spoke to me about their enriching experiences.”
