Sir Gavin Williamson attended a Craft Show in Great Haywood to show his support for the maintenance and upkeep of the Memorial Hall.
The event provided local people with the opportunity to showcase their products – ranging from handcrafted gifts to jams and preservatives. Craft Shows are held three or four times per year and proceeds go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the Hall.
The Memorial Hall is an important local asset for the people of Great Haywood, Little Haywood, and surrounding areas – holding classes, workshops, and providing a space for people to socialise and come together.
Cath Birt – member of the Hall Committee and the Hall Catering Team said: “Great Haywood recently held one of its ever popular Art and Craft Fairs. It was very well attended and a great success. Among those who came, we were pleased to welcome Sir Gavin Williamson, our newly elected MP.
“Sir Gavin spoke with the organisers, stall holders, volunteer helpers and visitors. He showed great interest, not only in the Fair, but also in the part played by the Memorial Hall in the life of the community, with the wide range of activities, meetings and entertainments hosted there.”
Sir Gavin said: "It was fantastic to attend the Great Haywood Craft Show and meet so many amazing talented and skilled local people. I was ever so impressed with the brilliant products on show that will make perfect Christmas presents.
“I am committed to doing everything that I can to support The Memorial Hall which is such an important asset for the community.”
