Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, attended a GCSE Awards Ceremony at Ounsdale High School, on Thursday 14th November.
Gavin will be presented the certificates to students at the event and also gave a short speech about the importance of academia.
Ounsdale High School has a long tradition of academic excellence and this year was no exception. Around 86% of students gained 5 or more GCSEs, with 75% gaining an A*- C grade in Maths and 69% gaining an A*- C grade in English.
The sixth form students also excelled, with 100% of students passing their A levels and 43% gaining A*, A or B grades.
Gavin said: “It was wonderful to be able to join in the celebration and the success of so many pupils. Ounsdale High School is an outstanding school, which draws its pupils not just from Wombourne but the entire surrounding area. This is because of its long record of success and excellence in the academic field.”
