Sir Gavin Williamson visited the National Award Winning 3 Hammers Golf Complex in Coven to celebrate the opening of their Jurassic Creek Adventure Golf course.
Sir Gavin met with owner Ian Bonser and Business Development Manager Sam Hill and tried out the new 18-hole crazy golf course. Jurassic Creek has been praised for its imaginative theming, with a Brachiosaurus named “Rory Neckilroy” and a 20ft Tyrannosaurus Rex towering over the course.
Established in 1965, 3 Hammers is a nationally-recognised, award-winning golf venue. It boasts a 15 Hole Par 3 Course, Toptracer Driving Range and an onsite bar and bistro. In addition to this, it is home to a Golf Academy and has previously been voted the Best Golf Facility in the UK.
Sir Gavin said: “I thoroughly enjoyed putting my golf skills to the test on the brand-new Jurassic Creek course. The 3 Hammers team have done a wonderful job in designing and delivering such an entertaining facility, and I am sure many of my constituents cannot wait to pay it a visit. It is fantastic to see that South Staffordshire’s tourism industry is thriving and I will continue to do my utmost to support this vibrant and dynamic sector.”
Ian said: “Sir Gavin has always been keen to support 3 Hammers and the various initiatives we deliver in the local community. Jurassic Creek is a great way for families to get outside and take an interest in golf, so we were delighted that Sir Gavin saw the appeal and was happy to get involved by playing the course himself.”
