Sir Gavin Williamson recently visited Cheslyn Hay Academy following the Academy’s improved Ofsted rating.
Sir Gavin met with the headteacher, Mr Macdonald, and the chief executive of Windsor Academy Trust, Dawn Haywood, to discuss the success of the trust in the constituency in improving standards.
In October, the Academy improved their Ofsted rating from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’, with the report noting that teachers ‘pay serious attention to developing pupils both academically and personally.’
Sir Gavin said: “It was a pleasure to join Mr Macdonald and Ms Haywood at Cheslyn Hay Academy to discuss the work they had been doing to improve the Academy’s Ofsted rating. Their recent improvement is a fantastic achievement reflecting all the hard work of pupils and teachers and is a real boost for both the children and the whole community.”
