Sir Gavin Williamson recently visited Collins Aerospace’s Stafford Road site to speak about the company’s investment into early careers and a sustainable future for aviation.
Sir Gavin was joined by Jane Stevenson MP for a tour of the site and discussions with early careers staff about their work.
Collins Aerospace is one of the world largest suppliers of aerospace and defence products, with sites around the UK and abroad.
Their Stafford Road site is the company’s worldwide Actuation Systems headquarters with over 1,200 employees on-site.
Sir Gavin said: “It was a pleasure to visit Collins Aerospace’s facility in Wolverhampton alongside Jane Stevenson MP. The site tour and discussions I had with the staff at the facility gave me some great insight into their work on advanced manufacturing and helping develop a more sustainable aviation sector.
“I particularly enjoyed speaking with apprentices and those in their early careers at Collins about their work and how Collins is helping them acquire the skills they need to thrive in the STEM field.”
