Sir Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently visited Ibstock Brick’s site in Cheslyn Hay to discuss the business and the future of the ceramics industry.
Ibstock is the largest brick maker in the UK with over 200 years of brickmaking experience, 16 clay factories across the UK, and 2,119 employees across the wider Ibstock plc Group.
Sir Gavin was shown around the site by Darren Bowkett, Technical and Strategic Projects Director, during which they discussed the company’s Net-Zero plans and ambitious ESG strategy.
Darren Bowkett said ‘‘We appreciate the visit to our Lodge Lane factory by Sir Gavin Williamson MP. Gavin was keen to see how the factory operates and to see the significant progress Ibstock has made on our journey to Net-Zero.’’
Sir Gavin said: “It was great to visit the Ibstock factory and to see how the business has continued going from strength to strength. Their commitment to sustainable business practises was especially notable and I look forward to following their continued progress in this area in the future.”
