Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Brindley Heath Primary School, to discuss the bidding of improving current school facilities.
Meeting with Headmaster of Brindley Heath, Jimmy Martin, Gavin discussed the opportunities of additional funding being made available for the school to invest in improving on its current building structure, as part of improvement plans to meet higher demand for pupils needs.
The visit also saw Gavin meet Chief Executive of Manor Academy Trust, Anita Cliff, who expressed the need for the investment into Brindley Heath, during a tour with Gavin around school premises.
The plans for investment, come in conjunction with the £14 billion UK wide investment into education, alongside the minimum £3,750 per year that is made available to every Primary School pupil, rising to £4,000 the following year across South Staffordshire.
Commenting on the visit, Gavin said: “It’s great to come and visit Brindley Heath and I’ve had an extremely productive afternoon with the Headteacher and governors, where we have discussed the fantastic teaching methods that are benefiting pupils every day. I would like to praise the school and their brilliant teachers for their continued hard work, and I will be fighting to gain vital investment into the school”.
