Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, joined residents to celebrate Brewood's award of the Best Kept Large Village in South Staffordshire.
The Best Kept Village Award, organised by The Community Council of Staffordshire, sees 50 to 60 villages participate every year. The competition, which aims to provide the opportunity for residents to come together to improve their communities, is split into five regions: Staffordshire, South Staffordshire, Lichfield/Cannock Chase, Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire.
Brewood won the Best Kept Large Village in South Staffordshire and Kinver came in second place. In addition, Pattingham and Wombourne were highly commended by the judging panel.
Commenting on their success, Gavin said: "I was so pleased to hear that Brewood has won the Best Kept Large Village award in South Staffordshire. It was lovely joining with residents and celebrating this fantastic achievement.
I was also very pleased to hear that Kinver came second place in this category and Pattingham and Wombourne were highly commended by the judging panel. It's fantastic that our beautiful villages are recognised and I am so proud of all those who have worked hard to showcase their communities".
