Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited pupils at Havergal Primary School in Shareshill last week to take lead an assembly on what it is like to be a Member of Parliament.
Pupils grilled Gavin on a number of different topics relating to his work as a Member of Parliament, his role as the Prime Minister’s PPS and many other issues.
Students also heard about Gavin’s appointment as a Privy Councillor and took part in a re-enactment of the ceremony with the Queen that took place at Buckingham Palace.
On visiting the primary school Gavin said: “I was absolutely delighted to take part in the assembly at Havergal Primary School and answering questions from pupils about being a Member of Parliament. It was fantastic to see how enthusiastic they were in learning more about politics and how the government works.
“I always enjoy visiting this wonderful community school. I’d like to thank the students and teachers from the school for their wonderful hospitality and I look forward to returning again in the future.”
