Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, attended the Wombourne Games on Saturday 14th July. The games, which occurred only two weeks prior to the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, included a wide variety of activities and sports ranging from athletics to fishing. The funds raised from the games are to be spent on community facilities.
Commenting on the games, Gavin Williamson said:
‘I really enjoyed attending the Wombourne Games and warmly congratulate all those involved in organising this excellent event. It was a joy to see so many people both attending and taking part in the event which demonstrated the great pride that the people of Wombourne take in their community.
