Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Essington Golf Club last week to see the progression of the expansion of the course.
The club, which is owned by Brian Saunders, is situated between Bursnips Road and Broad Lane, will see an extra nine holes added to the current course with additional clubhouse facilities to be built in the future.
The expansion of the golf course and facilities will see the creation of over 50 jobs with facilities in the clubhouse to include a lounge, meeting room, kitchen, and 63 car parking spaces.
Following his visit to the club Gavin said: “It was brilliant to meet Brian and I was so interested to hear about the ongoing expansion plans for the golf club. The proposals for the additional part of the course and for the club house look extremely exciting for the clubs future.
“I think that it is fantastic that the club will bring over 50 jobs to the area providing brilliant opportunities benefitting a number of Essington residents. I look forward to seeing their plans come into fruition and returning to see the clubhouse in the future.”
