Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is to attend the official opening of the i54 business park, by The Queen, this week.
The Queen will be accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, on the visit to Bilbrook. She will officially open the Jaguar Land Rover engine factory and the new home of a postage stamp printing business.
After officially opening the JLR Engine Manufacturing Centre, the Queen and the Duke will meet school children who have been involved with engineering design projects with the company. The site has recently manufactured the new Ingenium engine, which has been unveiled in Jaguar’s latest models the XE Prestige and XE Portfolio. The site will eventually provide 1600 jobs for people.
Gavin said: “It is fantastic that such an important investment such as the JLR site is to be opened by Her Majesty The Queen. It shows how vital this is not only to South Staffordshire but to the country as well.
“I have been lucky enough to attend the official unveiling of the Jaguar models, that use the Ingenium engines that are manufactured on the i54 site, in London, so to have The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh come to Bilbrook to open the plant is a real honour.”
