Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently visited Sunnyside Kennels during their open day.
Gavin was kindly invited to be a judge of the ‘best-in-show’. He met representatives from the home who showed Gavin around, what they do for the dogs, and the dogs themselves.
Gavin met police dog Cooper, who is a rescue dog and is one of the only Staffordshire bull terriers to be in the UK police force and has been a great success.
Birmingham Dog’s Home was founded over 100 years ago and is still going strong. Its long and proud tradition of rehoming and looking after Britain’s most beloved pet would not have been and is not possible without such great support from the people of South Staffordshire and the rest of the West Midlands.
Gavin said, “I love dogs and loved every minute of visiting Sunnyside. It was great to see the fantastic work that Birmingham Dog’s Home does and it’s even better to see how many people support such a wonderful organisation. It was also fantastic to see how well the dogs are doing and all of the great homes they go to. I want to pay tribute to the wonderful staff and thank them for a brilliant visit”.
