Sir Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently joined other Staffordshire MPs in planting trees around their constituencies to mark the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee.
Sir Gavin planted his tree at Bilbrook playing fields and was joined by members of the local community, including representatives from Codsall and Bilbrook Parish Councils, local councillors, and members of a Bilbrook playgroup.
All trees planted by Staffordshire MPs will form part of ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy Initiative’ to help create an environmental legacy in honour of Her Majesty which will benefit future generations.
Sir Gavin said: “It was a pleasure to kick off the Jubilee celebrations by planting a tree at Bilbrook playing fields in honour of Her Majesty’s historic Platinum Jubilee. I look forward to this tree, alongside all the other trees planted by my fellow Staffordshire MPs, contributing to the Queen’s Green Canopy which will stand as a lasting legacy of her service to this nation.”
