Sir Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently welcomed apprentices from South Staffordshire to Parliament to celebrate their work for companies in the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors.
The reception was attended by over 100 apprentices from across the UK who had a chance to speak to Parliamentarians about the benefits of their apprenticeship programmes.
Sir Gavin heard about the contribution made by the 14,000 apprentices working in the UK’s Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors and about the personal experiences of several of his constituents who are currently apprentices in these sectors.
Sir Gavin said: “It was a pleasure to meet so many bright apprentices in the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors and to see the fantastic contributions they are making to our world leading companies who operate in these areas.
“I was particularly delighted to speak to my constituents Louis from Collins Aerospace and Chloe from Babcock to hear about the experience, skills, and expertise they had acquired from their apprenticeships and their plans to continue to develop their knowledge in the sector.”
