Sir Gavin Williamson MP visited Wombourne Village Hall to see the progress of recent renovations following the award of a National Lottery Grant.
Sir Gavin met with Donna Eccleston, Dave Collins, and other trustees of Wombourne Village Hall to discuss the ongoing renovation of the hall and how the lottery money would be used.
The grant of £9,800 will be used to fit double glazed windows in the hall and replace two emergency exit doors.
The hall is used for a variety of activities, including kickboxing, Slimming World, children’s groups, and amateur dramatics.

Donna Eccleston & David Collins, Trustees of Wombourne Village Hall, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Sir Gavin Williamson to Wombourne Village Hall and his continued interest and enthusiasm for our project is much appreciated.
“In 2027, Wombourne Village Hall will celebrate its centenary having been built in 1927. We are passionate about preserving and improving the facilities and ensuring the Hall remains part of Wombourne Village life for the next 100 years.
“Sir Gavin has always been happy to come along show his support for this historical village building and we look forward to welcoming him back in 2023 to see the latest developments.”
