Sir Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has called on City Fibre to clean areas of Perton after works left mud and sand on the pavements and in the gutters.
Sir Gavin and local councillors from Perton met with Bashir Ahmed MBE, Area Manager for City Fibre, to discuss work carried out recently to install fibre in the village.
Numerous residents have complained about the work done by the City Fibre’s contractor, Callan Connect, citing mud and sand left over the area and oil left on the street.
Following Sir Gavin’s intervention, City Fibre has committed to ensuring their build areas around Perton are properly cleaned and restored to their original states.
Sir Gavin said: “While I welcome City Fibre bringing faster broadband for Perton residents, it should not come at the price of a clean neighbourhood. It is vital that City Fibre works rapidly to address the mess left behind by their contractors and I will be sure to follow their progress closely.”
