Work has begun on the first phase of a new 250,000 sq ft facility for aerospace group Moog at the i54 business park in South Staffordshire. Gavin was delighted to join Moog for the ceremony where the President of Moog turned the first sod for the new facility which will house design, development and manufacturing operations for multiple aircraft flight controls programmes. Moog is relocating its Wolverhampton operations from nearby Wobaston Road.
Builders McLaren Construction have moved in to pave the way for the new premisies, which will be completed in September 2012, safeguarding around 400 jobs.
Warren C Johnson, Moog Aircraft Group President turned the first sod in the prescence of David Gavin, Divisional Director, McLaren Construction; Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire; Stuart Mclachlan, Moog Business Unit General Manager; Stoford Director Dan Gallagher and Fusion Director Steve Jelfs.
