Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently took part in the Wombourne Village Tidy Up.
The litter picking event was held in support of Wombourne’s bid to take the Best Kept Village title.
The evening’s activities were organised by Best Kept Village Committee Chair Julie Lawton.
Speaking of the litter pick, Gavin said: ““It is wonderful to see residents take such pride in their village and to help it in its preparations to win the Best Kept Village Competition.
“The many volunteers should be extremely proud of all the hard work that they have put in and I hope their efforts will be rewarded by Wombourne taking this year’s title.”
Hopes are high for this year’s competition. Wombourne has finished second on a number of occasions and last year also received a highly commended certificate.
