Gavin Williamson MP of South Staffordshire has presented an award to the Mary Stevens Hospice Shop, in Kinver.
It is the second year running that the Mary Stevens Hospice Shop has won the Best Dressed Window Display competition, which is held annually as part of Kinver’s Christmas lights celebrations.
Gavin and Councillor Julian Hall judged the Best Dressed Window Display during the turning on of the Christmas lights event, on November 30, which featured live music by Choir Got2Sing and a street market.
On winning the award for a second year, Mary Stevens Hospice Shop co-manager Kate Piper said: “I am just a big kid. I love Christmas and I love windows. I get pleasure from people coming in and saying, ‘Kate, I love your windows.’
“Last year, we framed a picture of Gavin and us outside, holding the trophy, and put it on the counter in the store. This year, it might go into the window for a little bit before going back on the counter.”
Gavin added: “The display was absolutely outstanding, but there was incredibly tough competition, as we had so many wonderful displays all around Kinver.
