Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has secured a promise from the Council that it will fix an embarrassing error on a local sign.
The black on white directional road sign, located at the t-junction of Wolverhampton Road and Saredon Road, has been pointing the way to Wedges Mill for months.
However, as can viewed on the village sign just 200 metres away, the name of the village in question is actually Wedges Mills.
Gavin got in touch with authorities after local residents raised concerns with him about the error.
In response to Gavin, the Council has stated it will replace the sign at the earliest convenience.
Gavin said: “The name of a village is its identity. It may be just one missing letter, but it is an extremely important letter to many of the residents of Wedges Mills.
“I am delighted that the Council has agreed to replace the sign and fix the mistake.”
