Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited the senior school in Telford.
Gavin gave a talk to sixth form students, who were also able to ask him questions about his role as an MP and as Secretary of State for Defence. Gavin also met with Sir Kevin Satchwell, the headmaster, to discuss the recent academic accomplishments of students and the number of extra-curricular clubs and activities the school offers.
Speaking about the visit, Gavin said ββIt was a pleasure to visit Thomas Telford School and I really enjoyed being able to talk to current students about what it is like to work in parliament. I was very impressed by the in-depth questions that the students asked about a wide range of issues and I was really pleased to see that lots of the pupils are interested in politics. I wish the students every success with their studies for the upcoming academic year.ββ
