Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, welcomed the announcement from the Prime Minister and the Chancellor that there will be £36 billion invested in more than 200 infrastructure projects this year.
This investment will particularly benefit South Staffordshire with improvements to pinch points on the A5 Churchbridge Cannock Island helping to create the jobs that provide people with stability and security.
Gavin said: “Backing small business and enterprise with better infrastructure is part of this Government’s long-term economic plan to build a stronger, more competitive British economy.
“By taking difficult decisions to control spending elsewhere, the Government has been able to invest in infrastructure – creating jobs and making it easier for businesses to move goods around the country.
“Each job that a business in South Staffordshire can offer means another family has the security and peace of mind that comes from a regular pay packet.”
