Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, took students from Codsall Middle School on a tour of Parliament when they visited Westminster last week.
Gavin showed the group around Westminster Hall, Central Lobby and St Stephen’s Hall before holding a question and answer session in one of the House of Commons’ Committee Rooms. Gavin spoke to the students about the role of an MP and topics ranging from the Iraq War and the EU Referendum result to the greatest challenges of being an MP.
On departure, all of the students, who were all members of the school’s Student Council received certificates from Gavin to commemorate their day in Parliament.
Discussing the visit, Gavin said: “It was an enormous pleasure to be able to meet the students and staff from Codsall Middle School in Westminster last week.
“The pupils were really engaged and interested in work that goes on in Parliament. They asked some extremely intelligent questions and I have no doubt that I will be hearing more from these students in the future.”
