Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, took students from Codsall Middle School on a tour of Parliament yesterday.
Gavin began the tour by showing pupils through Westminster Hall and then led students to the House of Commons Chamber, House of Lords and the Voting Lobby, where he demonstrated the procedure an MP would go through during a vote
Following the tour, Gavin took the pupils to a committee room where he talked about his life as an MP and his role as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Ministers. The students then asked Gavin questions about his role as an MP. The students questioned Gavin about issues ranging from how he splits his time between South Staffordshire and London to the type of events he attends in the constituency.
Commenting on the visit, Gavin stated “It was a great pleasure to be able to meet with the students and staff of Codsall Middle School. I was extremely impressed by the pupils’ knowledge of Parliament and their questions on national politics and also issues that affect them locally.”
