Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, took students from Codsall Middle School on a tour of Parliament today.
Gavin started off the tour by showing the students through Westminster Hall and The Chapel of St Mary Undercroft. The pupils were also given the chance to see first-hand a House of Commons debate.
Gavin then took the group into the Prime Minister’s office to see where David Cameron works on a daily basis.
Following the tour, the students asked Gavin questions about his role as an MP. The students queried Gavin about issues ranging from his duties as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister to the type of events he attends in the constituency.
Discussing the visit, Gavin stated “It was a great pleasure to be able to meet with the students and staff of Codsall Middle School. I was extremely impressed by the pupils’ knowledge and their questions, which covered both local and national politics.”
On departure, the students were presented with certificates signed by Gavin to commemorate their visit to Parliament.
