Sir Gavin Williamson visited Lisbeth Nursing Home in Great Wyrley to learn more about how the facility provides high-quality care for its residents.
Sir Gavin paid a visit to Lisbeth Nursing Home and met with both staff and residents, including a Ukrainian refugee who has recently moved in. He was particularly impressed by the staff’s dedication to meeting residents’ individual needs, and their efforts to create a warm and positive community.
Since opening in 2021, the facility has been rated one of the top care homes in the region for 2022 and 2023 by carehome.co.uk. It prides itself on the care and dedication of its staff, who go above and beyond their roles to make sure that residents and their families are looked after and cared for.
Sir Gavin said: “It was fantastic to visit Lisbeth Nursing Home and witness the outstanding care it provides for residents and their families. I applaud the staff at Lisbeth Nursing Home for creating such a warm and welcoming environment for residents and wish them all the best for the future.”
Andrea Walker, Registered Home Manager, said: “We at Lisbeth Nursing Home were deeply honoured to receive a visit from our local MP, Sir Gavin Williamson, who took the time to recognise and celebrate our exceptional achievements in elderly care and our dedication to fostering a strong sense of community.
During his visit, Sir Gavin praised our team's unwavering commitment to providing top-quality care, which has earned us two prestigious care home awards. We are immensely proud of these accolades, which serve as a testament to the passion and dedication our staff bring to their work every day.
One touching highlight of Sir Gavin's visit was his thoughtful gesture to ensure effective communication with one of our non-English speaking residents. He reached out to a Russian-speaking colleague, allowing the resident to engage comfortably and meaningfully. This act of inclusivity perfectly aligns with our core values of respect and understanding for every individual under our care.
Sir Gavin's assistant also made a significant impact, taking the time to connect with both residents and staff members. Their positive interactions left a lasting impression on all of us and reinforced the importance of fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
What made Sir Gavin's visit particularly meaningful was his decision to come on a regular working day rather than during a formal event. This showed his genuine interest in experiencing our day-to-day operations and witnessing first-hand the heartfelt connections between residents and staff that define the unique atmosphere at Lisbeth Nursing Home.
At Lisbeth Nursing Home, we are committed to delivering exceptional care, and we are truly grateful for the support we receive from our residents' relatives. Sir Gavin's visit has further inspired us to continue our mission of providing the best possible care and making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.”
