Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited St John’s Primary Academy in Essington to speak to Year 6 students about British politics.
During his visit, Gavin took part in a Q&A session with pupils, providing insight into Parliament and how politics and political decisions effect their lives.
Gavin also met with Headteacher Samantha Price and CEO of Future Generation Trust, Stuart Ayres, to discuss how St John’s were getting on after gaining academy status last year.
Speaking about the visit, Gavin said: “It is always a pleasure being invited to St John’s. I had a great time discussing my role within politics and how decisions are made. There were some fantastic questions asked and it was great to see so many children passionate about shaping their future.”
