Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Lower Barns Farm in Pattingham to learn more about what they are doing to protect owls in the area.
Gavin toured the farm seeing the newly created owl boxes and learning more about the encouragement of wildlife diversity on the farm.
After becoming a parliamentary champion for the Barn Owl, Gavin has visited owl protection sites across the constituency including the new site in Himley for the World Owl Centre after its relocation from Cumbria.
After his visit to the Pattingham Farm Gavin said: “I had a brilliant time at Lower Barns Farm in Pattingham, meeting their Barn Owls and learning more about the ways we can protect them for future generations.
“Earlier this year I was made a species champion for the Barn Owl and have spent time since then learning more about them and their habitats right across South Staffordshire. The work that is done here in Pattingham, and indeed right across the constituency to encourage wildlife diversity, is extremely important for our environment and I am so proud of the work that people like the staff here at Lower Barns Farm do to ensure it thrives.”
