Sir Gavin Williamson visited Glenthorne Primary School in Cheslyn Hay and discussed how young people can make changes in their local community.
Sir Gavin was welcomed by Headteacher Rebecca Woodall, who led a tour of the school and introduced him to staff and students. In a lively question and answer session with the students, Sir Gavin responded to insightful queries on various aspects of policy. He also discussed local concerns and explored ways in which young people can make a difference within their community.
Glenthorne Primary School has won a number of awards, including the Pearson Teaching Awards, and is a contributor to the SEND Gateway programme. It prides itself on the inclusive and safe learning environment it provides for pupils.
Sir Gavin said: “It was fantastic to be able to visit Glenthorne Primary School and to meet with the active and vibrant school community. Engaging with students, understanding their concerns, and witnessing the hard work of our educators is always a rewarding experience. I extend my thanks and appreciation for the school’s hard work in educating our young people."
