Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, joined staff and pupils to officially open the block
The school’s brand new teaching block will be home to the mathematics, English and Modern Foreign Languages Department which formed Phase I of the school's Condition Improvement Fund Bid, which also saw the relocation of their reception area which now offers a modernised welcome area for visitors.
Alongside opening the block, Gavin congratulated the school on being awarded the prestigious ISM / ISM Trust’s Bronze Certificate in Music for 2018. This means that more than 10% of all the school’s GCSE students were entered into GCSE music and achieved an A* to C grade which puts the school in the top 526 schools in England.
Commenting on the visit, Gavin said: “It was really lovely joining pupils and staff at Kinver High School to open the fantastic new teaching block. This is a really exciting addition to the school and I know it will highly benefit students. I also want to congratulate the school on being awarded the prestigious ISM/ISM Trust’s Bronze Certificate in Music for 2018 which demonstrates a real commitment to music in the school as well as representing a high level of achievement”.
