Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited St Paul’s Primary School in Coven this week to open the new school library.
Over the past year Gavin has visited pupils twice to see their designs for a playground at Coven Fields and also their campaign to clear up footpaths in the area that are affected by dog fouling. Students designed a poster which was then created by local company UK Safety Store and displayed close to the school.
Commenting on his visit Gavin said: “It was an honour to be invited back to St Paul’s and see pupils and teachers once again. The new facilities in the library really are wonderful and it was great to see how enthusiastic pupils were about reading and what books they wanted to read.
“Over the past year I’ve had the pleasure of seeing how much the school works with the local community on issues such as dog fouling and in creating a new play area at Coven Fields. It is clear that the staff have been fantastic in encouraging pupils to become really engaged in helping with the local community and I do hope that this continues in the future.”
