Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, will be meeting with Severn Trent, this Friday, to discuss a sewage leak at Coven Heath.
The sewage, which was discovered, last month, by a local resident whilst they were walking their dog, was pouring from a large container on the Severn Trent site.
The accident forced the temporary closure of Ball Lane as contractors sought to clean up the spillage.
The Severn Trent site currently caters for sewage coming from HMP Oakwood and there have been reports that the sewage from the new i54 business park will also be sent to the facility.
Local residents have claimed that the tanks are not being properly maintained, stating that a similar incident occurred on Christmas Eve. There are also fears over the site’s capacity.
On his upcoming meeting, Gavin said: ”I am glad that Severn Trent has agreed to meet with me and appears to treating this matter with the seriousness that it deserves.
“Spills such as the one that occurred in Coven Heath are, quite simply, not acceptable and can be extremely dangerous. I will be calling on Severn Trent to act immediately to ensure such an incident never occurs again.”
