Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, joined Glenthorne Community Primary School in Cheslyn Hay last week to present this year’s new Head Boy and Head Girl with their awards following the recent school elections.
Before making the presentations, Gavin watched the video presentations that each pupil made in order to be voted for by fellow prefects to the prestigious position. In the presentations, pupils explained why they would be good for the job and what they would bring to the position.
On the visit, Gavin said: “It was a real honour to be able to present these awards to this year’s Head Boy and Head Girl. The position is a great responsibility which builds confidence and helps to develop your leadership skills and I am sure that these two will excel in their roles.
“I’d also like to congratulate all those who submitted their video presentations which included a brilliant re-wording of ‘Let it Go’. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort had gone into them and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. I wish the new Head Boy and Head Girl well in their new role.”
