Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Glenthorne Primary School in Cheslyn Hay last week.
Gavin was invited to the school to talk to pupils in year 3 and 4 who have recently been learning about government, parliament and democracy.
Pupils grilled Gavin on a number of different topics relating to his work as a Member of Parliament, his role as the Prime Minister’s PPS and many other issues.
Students also heard about Gavin’s appointment as a Privy Councillor and took part in a re-enactment of the ceremony with the Queen that took place at Buckingham Palace
Gavin has previously visited the school in November to present pupils with their Prefect, Head Girl and Head Boy awards.
Commenting on his visit Gavin said: “I was delighted to be invited back to Glenthorne to visit pupils in years 3 and 4. It was fantastic to see how enthusiastic they were in learning more about politics and how the government works.
“The pupils came out with some extremely good questions and I would not be surprised if I saw them on Question Time in the near future. I’d like to thank the students and teachers from the school for their wonderful hospitality and I look forward to returning for a grilling in the future.”
